Unreal Engine — The ViewPort
an introduction
Background
the following is written notes with screencaps from a video on this subject on Unreal Engine’s site here. I find for me it is easier to reference written notes than it is to go back and find something in a video so I tend to just quickly screencap and write stuff down that I watch in videos.
The viewport is our view into the world, it lets us see and manipulate our items and basically work with everything
In the top left corner we have our viewport options.
We could toggle on realtime or fps
we can adjust our field of view if we want it to better match our project.
We can toggle cinematic preview on and off. This gives us play controls if we’re viewing a cinematic.
We have immersive mode which is basically full screen for the view port, and it can be toggled here in that menu or with the f11 key
Below this we have bookmarks, this allows us to quickly jump between one spot to another.
